Sunday, November 25th, 2012 marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence. This year's theme is From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Let’s Challenge Militarism and End Violence Against Women!
At WUSC, we have worked in countries like Sri Lanka to mobilize communities in recognizing and ending gender-based violence. Many of our programs strive towards empowering women and young girls and increasing equality between men and women.
Over the next 16 days, WUSC partner Match International will be sharing facts and figures about violence in Canada and internationally. Like them on Facebook or follow their Twitter for more information.
Find out ways you can help locally or internationally by visiting the 16 Days campaign website.
