Breaking records for Ride for Refuge

On October 4th, teams in Ottawa, Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal, Victoria, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Saskatoon hopped on their bikes to raise money for WUSC’s flagship Student Refugee Program. This was our third and biggest Ride for Refuge event yet and we nearly doubled last year’s total all thanks to the tremendous support from our WUSC riders and the continued generosity of our donors.

Ride for Refuge is a family-friendly cycling event that takes place across Canada and the United States. The event supports displaced, vulnerable and exploited people around the world. Participants ride to raise money for the charity of their choice.

When refugee students receive an education, it opens up a world of opportunity not only for them, but for their family and community. To date, WUSC has helped close to 1400 students change their lives through education.

Our goal is to make next year’s Ride for Refuge even bigger and we invite you to join a team and support our riders in 2015. Follow our site and like our Facebook page to stay in touch.
