To our dedicated SRP supporters,
In 2008-2009, you helped support the WUSC Student Refugee Program on your university or college campus. Your generous contribution at that time helped over 60 young refugees leave the harsh life of the refugee camp to attend university or college in Canada as a permanent resident, and you supported them as they adjusted to their new home and school.
Thanks to the support you provided them in their first weeks and months in Canada, those students are now graduating and will pursue careers in engineering, nursing, law and many other fields. The time you dedicated to the program has helped make a tangible difference in the lives of these young men and women.
On behalf of the WUSC SRP team, thank you for your support and we hope you are well, wherever life has taken you!
“I feel really good and thankful to be graduating. I look forward to help other people in the same situation I was in. […] It’s a huge turning point for me from losing my family to genocide, to spending time in the camp and then having the opportunity to go to school in Canada. It is something you cannot pay back.”
