The Annual WUSC Alumni Award is awarded by the WUSC Board of Directors to recognize the outstanding contribution of an individual who has demonstrated dedication and long-time commitment to the organization.
Ms. Brandy Robertson (2014)
Ms. Brandy Robertson has been an outstanding WUSC supporter and volunteer for the past nine years, as a student, campus staff and an alumna. Ms. Robertson became involved with WUSC as a member of the Brandon University WUSC Local Committee in Canada in 2006, initially as an undergraduate student and then as staff advisor for WUSC’s Student Refugee Program (SRP). It is undeniable that her leadership and dedication to WUSC have contributed significantly to the Brandon University WUSC Local Committee’s success for nearly a decade.Her interest and support to WUSC’s development work extended overseas to Botswana, where she completed an internship via WUSC’s Student Without Borders® program in 2011. Brandy has been a key ally for WUSC and its Youth and Community Engagement team as presenter, facilitator, and contributor over the years. She has fundraised thousands of dollars for WUSC’s SRP and mobilized her peers and her community on the role of education in development. Most recently, she took on the new role and responsibilities of Volunteer Regional Coordinator to support WUSC’s Canadian network of 75 Local Committees for the 2013-2014 academic year. She is currently a Masters Student at the University of New Brunswick and continues her unwavering engagement and support to WUSC
