Remembering Paul Cantor (1942-2018)

On behalf of the WUSC community, we would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Paul Cantor, who passed away on August 10, 2018.

With an expansive career, described by Paul himself as ‘deliciously eclectic’, he worked as a Canadian lawyer, educator, and executive in the private, public and non-profit sectors.

WUSC was lucky enough to know Paul in various facets; as an eager staff and seminar participant during his early career, as an active donor, and as a committed board member. No matter the circumstances, Paul remained a trusted WUSC supporter throughout his life.

Described by many as a renaissance man, Paul was a recipient of various awards for community service and was appointed to the Order of Canada in September 2014 for his contributions to the Canadian financial sector and for his support of post-secondary education.

It takes a certain kind of person to pen their own obituary. Paul Cantor was one such person, writing with wit and humility about his life and career trajectory. The unique impact he has left on those who knew him is undeniable, and he will be deeply missed.
