The WUSC network is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Stéphanie Lacroix, former volunteer, and friend to many. Stéphanie’s life was cut tragically short in the Ethiopian Airways crash on March 10, 2019.
Stéphanie had begun her career in Botswana, in 2014 as a Students Without Borders volunteer supporting Stepping Stones International, where she helped empower youth through after-school programs.
Stéphanie returned to WUSC and CECI as a Volunteer Support Advisor with the Uniterra program in Malawi in 2017. Upon her return to Canada, Stéphanie joined the United Nations Association of Canada as a project officer and leader of international youth delegations through the Canada Service Corps.
Described by all as a warm, smart, kind, curious, and highly motivated professional, Stéphanie brought a special energy to those colleagues fortunate enough to work with her. We know her legacy will continue to inspire her friends, family, and colleagues.
