Remembering W.O. Fennell (1916 – 2010)

WUSC would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Rev. William Oscar Fennell who passed away on May 25th, 2010 at the age of 94.

Born on January 10th 1916, Rev. Fennell led a life full of helping others. In 1942 he graduated from Emmanuel College and was ordained and served at St. John’s United Church in Levack, Ontario. After graduate work at the Union Seminary in New York he joined the faculty of Victoria University in 1946 where served for 35 years.

He was elected to World University Service of Canada’s International Committee in 1960, where he began a long-lasting relationship with WUSC. As a regular donor he would often show up at WUSC events happening in Toronto.
