Development Partners Workshop Planner and Facilitator

Canada’s Caribbean Regional Development Program

  1. INTRODUCTION

The Global Affairs Canada (GAC) Caribbean Regional Development Program (CRDP) – Georgetown, Guyana, through the Field Support Services Project Caribbean (FSSP-C), requires the services of a consultant to plan and facilitate a Development Partners Forum.

2. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

Canada’s CRDP has existing programming in 13 CARICOM countries (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and, Trinidad and Tobago). The CRDP programming is grounded in Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP), particularly in the Action Areas outlined below:

  • Environment and Climate Action
  • Growth that Works for Everyone
  • Human Dignity
  • Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and Girls
  • Inclusive Governance

Canada’s support is delivered through several partners including UN organizations, development banks, regional organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

The purpose of the workshop is to obtain an overview and update of each development partner’s programs, identify commonalities and gaps, share lessons and promote technical engagement, collaboration and partnership

3. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED

The services of a consultant is required to prepare for, design and facilitate the half-day discussion.

Specifically, the facilitator will be required to:

  1. Participate in planning meetings with key organizers to plan the workshop activity.
  2. Coordinate the logistics for the workshop (invitations, venue, hospitality arrangements etc)
  3. Design workshop including agenda
  4. Facilitate workshop
  5. Prepare workshop report

  • CONSULTANT PROFILE

Qualification:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s  degree(s), a Master’s degree would be an asset, in International Development or related field.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • At least ten years experience in planning and facilitating participatory stakeholder engagement fora
  • At least five years experience working with international development partners
  • Knowledge of development programs and activities (government, non-government and international development partners)
  • In-depth knowledge of Guyana
  • Proficient writing and communication skills

7. LANGUAGE OF WORK

English is the working language for this assignment. All deliverables must be provided in English, MS Word and PowerPoint where applicable.

8. ESTIMATED LEVEL OF EFFORT

A level of effort of up to eight (8) days is anticipated during the period of October – December 2024.

9. LOCATION OF WORK AND TRAVEL

The consultant will work from their own facilities. Minimum travel around Georgetown is anticipated.
