Our work

Our partners

More good is done together than apart. In an increasingly interconnected world, collaborative relationships are essential to addressing the complex challenges that youth face. Our work is always done in partnership, based on mutual trust and respect.

Who we partner with

WUSC fosters strong partnerships, bringing together the unique strengths and capabilities of each partner. We believe the whole is greater than the parts and strive for mutual benefit and shared success.

WUSC works with a wide variety of organizations in different ways, contexts, and project settings. This includes:

  • Civil society organizations
  • Non-governmental organizations
  • Government institutions
  • Education institutions
  • Private sector

Partnership principles

By partnering with like-minded organizations, we are able to adopt effective programming approaches on a larger scale and in a more sustainable way. While differences in contexts and projects may require different approaches, we strive to develop and uphold six key principles across all of our partnerships.

Sustainability and local ownership

WUSC commits to increasing the range of partners from within the communities in which we operate to enable more locally-led and contextually relevant programs.

Shared understanding

It is important for every partner, including WUSC, to have a shared understanding of the partnership’s purpose and intended impact, and a commitment to shared values.

Autonomy, independence, and trust

WUSC develops partnerships that allow adequate space for partners to bring their own ideas and make key decisions grounded in their own expertise.

Transparency and mutual accountability

WUSC commits to engaging in transparent relationships and to engaging in regular communication with partners about program strategy, tactics, and implementation throughout the partnership’s life cycle.

Commitment to joint learning and change

WUSC commits to amplifying experiences and knowledge of our local partners; ensuring that joint learning is capitalized and shared for both local and global use.

Complementarity and value add

Every partner, including WUSC, should have a shared understanding of what they bring, what to expect from others, and what is to be achieved together.
