As the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Advisor with WUSC in Lilongwe, Malawi, you will provide support in improving gender equality in the organization, through the sharing of skills and knowledge.

Roles and Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the team, support the design, development, and implementation of gender equality and social inclusion strategy to guide current and future programming
- Support the WUSC team and key stakeholders to design, develop and implement appropriate gender equality, gender mainstreaming and inclusive initiatives, including gender assessments and analysis, gender-sensitive work planning, community gender training, awareness programs, and capacity strengthening of key actors
- Assist in developing and facilitating gender training and GESI awareness initiatives for multiple audiences, including the WUSC team and volunteers, project stakeholders, partners, and engaging men and boys on positive masculinities
- Support the development and implementation of gender equality and social inclusion monitoring tools, to facilitate effective data collection, analysis and reporting on gender equality and social inclusion project outcomes
- Ensure an environmental and sustainability climate action lens is applied during training delivery and printing of materials
- Ensure that a gender equality lens is consistently applied in the execution of all activities
- Participate in pre-assignment training
- Participate in at least 3 public engagement initiatives before, during, or after the assignment. Volunteers will be equipped with the tools, training, and support to achieve these goals. Volunteers will also have one virtual check-in with the Public Engagement Officer throughout the course of their assignment
- Set up a personalized volunteer fundraising page on the WUSC fundraising platform and share it in your networks. Volunteers will be supported with the tools, training and support to achieve the fundraising goal
- Submit reports as required by the partner organization and by WUSC.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in gender or women’s studies, social sciences, or a relevant field
- Experience drafting content related to gender equality for publications, digital communications material and reporting
- Knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation will be an asset
- Minimum two (2) years relevant professional experience in your field of expertise
- A commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering
- Flexibility, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
- Experience with group facilitation and trainings, including content development considered an asset
- Experience living and working internationally considered an asset
- Written and oral fluency in English.
