As the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Advisor with Social Enterprise Ghana in Accra, Ghana, you will support the partner in developing a comprehensive gender equality strategy and action plan for the enhanced impact on small medium enterprises under the network of businesses supported by the partner.

Roles and Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the team, review and update the gender equality policy and action plan
- Support in the design of appropriate workplace code of conduct, gender and sexual exploitation policies
- Support in the development of gender monitoring tools and indicators to identify project impact reporting
- Conduct training to Social Enterprise Ghana staff on the tools and processes developed
- Ensure that a gender equality lens is consistently applied in the execution of all activities
- Support the inclusion of Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action principles into all research and monitoring and evaluation activities
- Support the organization to consider meaningful inclusion of program participants
- Participate in pre-assignment training
- Participate in at least 3 public engagement initiatives before, during, or after the assignment. Volunteers will be equipped with the tools, training, and support to achieve these goals
- Volunteers will also have one virtual check-in with the Public Engagement Officer throughout the course of their assignment
- Set up a personalized volunteer fundraising page on the WUSC fundraising platform and share it in your networks. Volunteers will be supported with the tools, training and support to achieve the fundraising goal
- Submit reports as required by the partner organization and by WUSC.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in social science or a related field
- Experience working with small medium businesses
- Minimum two (2) years relevant professional experience in your field of expertise
- A commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering
- Flexibility, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
- Experience with group facilitation and trainings, including content development
- Experience living and working internationally considered an asset
- Written and oral fluency in English.
Partner Description
The goal of Social Enterprise Ghana (SE Ghana) is to organize and develop a strong ecosystem for the social enterprise sector by increasing funding, driving policy, intensifying learning and innovation and ensuring that there is adequate research and data on the sector. SE Ghana is a part of the larger African Social Entrepreneurship Network (ASEN) which seeks to improve the social entrepreneurship ecosystem across the continent. SE Ghana, like other networks around the world, brings together social entrepreneurs to support one another, lead development in the social entrepreneurship space, and advocate for their shared interests.
Support Package
