As the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor with the Associated Center for Agro-Based Development (ACADES) in Lilongwe, Malawi, you will support the strengthening of monitoring and evaluation systems to improve the organization's ability to measure programmatic outcomes and communicate organizational impact.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with staff to design and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including developing tools and methodologies for data collection and performance tracking
  • Work with teams to conduct systematic and inclusive data gathering and in-depth analysis to measure program impact, identify trends, and assess organizational performance
  • Support the creation of high-quality reports, dashboards, and impact evaluations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Train and mentor staff and partners on gender and inclusive M&E tools, processes, and data management techniques to build capacity
  • Provide support to teams by offering actionable recommendations to enhance program effectiveness based on M&E insights as well as environmental friendly practices
  • Participate in pre-assignment training
  • Participate in at least 3 public engagement initiatives before, during, or after the assignment. Volunteers will be equipped with the tools, training, and support to achieve these goals. Volunteers will also have one virtual check-in with the Public Engagement Officer throughout the course of their assignment
  • Set up a personalized volunteer fundraising page on the WUSC fundraising platform and share it in your networks. Volunteers will be supported with the tools, training and support to achieve the fundraising goal
  • Submit reports as required by the partner organization and by WUSC.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Degree and/or training in program evaluation, international development, social sciences, project management, or other related field
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in designing and implementing M&E frameworks, including developing data collection tools and KPIs
  • Skill and knowledge information technology will be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with donor reporting requirements, compliance standards, and supporting risk management in program evaluation
  • A commitment to gender equality, youth inclusion, and international volunteering
  • Flexibility, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
  • Experience with group facilitation and trainings, including content development considered an asset 
  • Experience living and working internationally considered an asset
  • Written and oral fluency in English.

Partner Description

ACADES is a social enterprise which invests in the most rural and disconnected communities of smallholder farmers, especially youth and women. Its mission is to create sustainable wealth for smallholder farming communities through provision of tailor-made service packages consisting of agriculture financing, ethical market and farmer capacity development. Over the past 5 years, ACADES has organized and reached over 22,000 farmers with essential products and services.
