World Refugee Day Spotlight Series
On Sunday, June 20 we celebrated 20 years of World Refugee Day. In recognition of this important milestone we launched a Spotlight Series profiling 20 + refugees, one a day for 20 days leading up to World Refugee Day. The objective of this campaign was to highlight the work of refugee leaders and changemakers who are making the world a better place. Shining a spotlight on these remarkable individuals is just one of the ways WUSC helps advance refugee leadership. In case you missed it, you can view the full Spotlight Series here.
Over 82 million people around the world have been impacted by forced displacement, many of whom are doing wonderful things to make the world a better place for all. It was difficult to choose just 20 in recognition of this year’s 20th anniversary, so this is just a start! Thank you to everyone who sent in a nomination, shared our posts online, and to our Student Refugee Program Alumni Advisory Committee for helping to shape this initiative.
